Newcastle United and other clubs in both England and Europe are set to miss out on Aberdeen prospect Calvin Ramsay.
According to the Scotsman, no offers are yet to be received for the teenage defender, who is enjoying a breakout season with the Scottish club.
Furthermore, with the Dons not in a position to sell this month, it will only take a club-record offer for Aberdeen to sell Ramsay in the coming weeks.
As per the report, the current record stands at just £3m when Nottingham Forest signed Scott McKenna in 2020.
Moreover, reports in Italy suggest that Bologna, who were viewed as the favourites, are now unable to afford Ramsay. The Serie A side now have to sell this January if they are to fund a move for the Scottish defender.
Aberdeen stance on Ramsay blow to Newcastle

With Aberdeen now set to keep hold of their British talent, it is no doubt a blow for the likes of Newcastle, who could have done with young talent like Ramsay this January.
A player who was labelled as ‘elite’ by Dave Cormack, the chairman of Aberdeen, Ramsay has been lauded as one of the next Scottish youngsters who could make a major impact in the game.
However, with Ramsay now set to stay at Aberdeen for the remainder of the season, it appears that the likes of Newcastle will have to wait to make another move for the 18-year-old defender.
