Newcastle United are set to miss out on Pedro, as AS claim that he has decided to join Roma.

The Chronicle claimed that Newcastle had been offered the chance to land Pedro, but he now looks set to depart the Premier League.

The Spaniard’s £100,000-a-week contract (Spotrac) at Chelsea is due to expire in the summer, and a move away from England now reportedly appeals to the wide-man.

Pedro has won La Liga and the Premier League and now may be looking to add Serie A to his list to trophies.

Newcastle, meanwhile, could be forced to look elsewhere for attacking additions.

Pedro could have made a solid signing for the Magpies, given his experience and Premier League knowhow.

Although the Chelsea winger is now 32, he would surely have enhanced the quality available to Steve Bruce.

But Newcastle will have to look at alternative options, with the Magpies expected to have a busy summer, if their takeover does go through.
