Newcastle United are seemingly ready to offload Jack Colback in January.

According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United will field low bids for midfielder Jack Colback in January, in a desperate attempt to get him off the books after he decided he didn’t want to go abroad.
A 2014 free transfer signing from bitter rivals Sunderland, Colback initially started well with the Magpies, even earning an England call-up in August 2014.
However, he’s gradually been phased out of the Newcastle side, and has spent the last season and a half out on loan at Nottingham Forest in the Championship.
They didn’t push for a permanent move though, and both the English and European deadlines have passed with Colback still at St James’ Park.
It’s now claimed that no League One club could afford Colback and he decided he wouldn’t accept a transfer abroad, meaning he’s still on the Newcastle books.

The Magpies will now look to offload him for a ‘low’ fee in January, and hopefully bring his time on Tyneside to an end, which has proven difficult given that he’s a boyhood Newcastle fan.
Colback earns around £35,000-a-week according to Spotrac, and Newcastle no doubt can’t wait to get that money off the wage bill – but it will have to wait a few months yet.
