Newcastle United may reportedly enter the race to sign the Nottingham Forest star, with Stoke City also linked.

According to The Chronicle, Newcastle could be “tempted” to enter the race to sign Nottingham Forest star Ben Osborn.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move away from Nottingham Forest in recent weeks.
Stoke City seem to be leading the charge for Osborn’s signature but, according to The Chronicle, Newcastle may throw their hat in the ring if a “reasonable” fee can be agreed.
The Nottingham Post have previously suggested that the Reds would want somewhere in the region of £5 million.

If the Magpies are genuinely interested then Rafael Benitez’s side may have an advantage over the Potters, given that Nottingham Forest presumably wouldn’t be mad on the idea of strengthening a Championship rival following Stoke’s relegation from the Premier League this past season.
The report from The Chronicle adds that United have “extensively” scouted him throughout the past two years.
Osborn can play anywhere across midfield and could be a versatile member of Benitez’s squad in the North East, but time will tell whether a transfer materialises.
