Newcastle United have offered to pay up Achraf Lazaar’s and Rolando Aarons’ contracts but both players refused to settle on a deal, the Northern Echo report.
Aarons and Lazaar appear to have no future at Newcastle, with Steve Bruce completely overlooking them since his arrival.
Newcastle felt that letting them go on a free transfer and getting their wages off the books could be an option.
But the pair have apparently turned down Newcastle’s option to give them a pay-out to cancel their contract, and they remain at the club.
Newcastle have now apparently told their agents to find them a new club, but neither of the duo have departed yet.
Aarons once looked as if he could have an extremely bright future at Newcastle, but injury curtailed his progress, and he has only really made an impact in the lower leagues.

Wycombe Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth called Aarons a ‘great player’ to the Bucks Free Press last season, but Newcastle apparently don’t feel he has the quality to break into their starting line-up.
Lazaar, meanwhile, has proven to be a poor buy for the Magpies, and he has hardly made any sort of impression at St. James’ Park during his stint at the club.
