Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff has starred on loan at Blackpool.

According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United youngster Sean Longstaff is attracting interest from Premier League rivals having impressed on loan at Blackpool,
Longstaff, 19, has come up through the ranks at St. James’ Park, and having penned a new contract with the club this past summer, he was sent out on loan to League One Blackpool for first-team experience having spent the second half of last season with Kilmarnock.
The midfielder has responded incredibly, scoring four goals in eight league games for the Tangerines, with his performances now seemingly catching the eye of onlooking scouts.

The Daily Mail claim that scouts from Championship clubs, as well as talent spotters from rival Premier League sides, have all been watching Longstaff ahead of possibly making moves to sign him in 2018.
Blackpool are keen to extend Longstaff’s loan deal until the end of the season, but with clubs potentially offering Newcastle a cash deal for the teenager, Gary Bowyer’s men will approach January with major concern over losing their loan star.
It’s unclear just which Premier League sides would be pursuing Longstaff’s signature, and whilst they may see him as a star of the future and a developmental prospect, that would leave him in a similar position to where is at Newcastle.
Longstaff may need a clear pathway to first-team football in order to jump ship from Newcastle, where he is clearly highly rated having been handed that new contract just months ago.
Having lost teenager Lewis Gibson to Premier League rivals Everton over the summer, Newcastle certainly won’t want to see another homegrown talent leave the club, and they should be looking to fend off any interest in Longstaff come the January transfer window, instead looking to develop him into a first-team regular.
