Newcastle United are reportedly keen on Monaco ace Antonio Barreca.

According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Newcastle United are looking to sign Monaco left back Antonio Barreca this month.
The Magpies went into the January transfer window needing new signings to bolster Rafael Benitez’s squad, but there have been no arrivals yet.
It looks like being yet another late-window trolley dash for Newcastle, and it’s imperative that they bring in another left back before the end of the month.
Paul Dummett needs competition at left back, and with Achraf Lazaar a forgotten man at St James’ Park, Newcastle must sign another player in that area of the pitch.
Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Newcastle have now turned their attention to Monaco’s Barreca, and are looking into a deal this month.
Barreca, 23, impressed in Italy with Torino and made a move to Monaco last summer, costing just £1.75million plus midfielder Soualiho Meite, as reported by Di Marzio.

Whilst he has been tipped for international caps in the future, he has played just seven league games for Monaco, and hasn’t played at all in almost three months.
Thierry Heny seemingly doesn’t want the pacy, attack-minded Barreca, and that may just allow Newcastle to swoop in and sign him, either on loan or permanently.
