Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly set to keep Stanley N’Soki at the club.
According to ESPN, Paris Saint-Germain are set to agree a new contract with left back Stanley N’Soki, ending any lingering hope for Newcastle United.
The Magpies were in the market for a new left back over the summer to compete with Paul Dummett, and they were linked with a whole host of options.
One such target was PSG talent N’Soki, with The Chronicle reporting that Rafael Benitez hoped to bring him to St. James’ Park, with talks held over a £9million deal.
However, much like many of Benitez’s other targets, no move went through, and Newcastle appear to have missed their chance to land N’Soki.
ESPN report that PSG are now set to hand N’Soki a new contract to stay at the Parc des Princes, with a deal finally imminent after lengthy negotiations.
N’Soki has come up through the PSG ranks, and has impressed this season as he receives playing time due to Layvin Kurzawa’s injury, Yuri Berchiche’s exit and the late signing of Juan Bernat.
The 19-year-old now has a chance to settle down and really kick on with PSG, handing him the chance to play in the Champions League this season – and will rule out any move to Newcastle for the foreseeable future if Benitez had any plans on a new January bid.
