Newcastle United want to bring former Manchester City starlet Rony Lopes back to the Premier League – is he leaving La Liga already?

With 15 new players signing for Sevilla this summer, even the esteemed talent-stopper Monchi was never going to come out of a remarkable transfer window with a 100 per cent success rate.
And while the likes of Lucas Ocampos and Javier Hernandez already look like inspired additions to a team now managed by Julen Lopetegui, it’s not getting any easier for Marcos ‘Rony’ Lopes at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
According to El Gol Digital, Lopes could leave Sevilla in January, despite only arriving in August for £23 million.
The former Monaco playmaker has played just 11 minutes of La Liga football and, after being left out of the squad for Sunday’s narrow defeat to Real Madrid, the report claims that the Andalusians have already discussed the possibility of him leaving in January.

El Gol Digital backs up claims from the Northern Echo that Newcastle are interested in bringing Lopes back to the Premier League, four years after his time at Manchester City came to an end.
And if Saturday’s bore draw with Brighton is anything to go by, Steve Bruce is crying out for some cutting edge in the final third.
Newcastle fans might be concerned about the prospect of signing a £23 million flop who already looks like a colossal waste of money at Sevilla but, remember, Lopes produced 17 goals and 12 assists for Monaco as recently as 2017/18.
No one should be writing him off just yet.
