Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Patrick Erras this summer, and may not need to break the bank to sign him.

According to a report from the Daily Star, Newcastle may need to pay just £5 million this summer if they decide to step up their interest in Nuernberg midfielder Patrick Erras.
If Rafa Benitez sticks around, it appears that he could need to strengthen his midfield options at St James’ Park, with The Telegraph reporting that Isaac Hayden could seal a £20 million exit this summer, while Jonjo Shelvey has been linked with a move to West Ham (via The Sun).
The Spaniard will likely be hoping that he can add a marquee option in the middle of the park, but it appears that the club also have their eye on potential bargain signings.
And the Daily Star reports that Benitez is believed to be one of the Premier League bosses to have made an enquiry for Erras, and it could cost just £5 million to take him from the Bundesliga side.

Erras has made 17 league appearances this term, contributing one assist. It is therefore, perhaps a potential signing that may not exactly leave the Newcastle supporters feeling overly excited.
But Benitez has shown how clever he can be when his back is against the wall in the transfer market. Martin Dubravka, Fabian Schar and Federico Fernandez have all been inspired additions, so perhaps Erras could follow in their footsteps if he heads to Tyneside.
