According to Super Deporte, Newcastle are interested in signing Real Madrid playmaker Isco, although Rafa Benitez wants him at Everton.
What’s the story?
Well, this would be quite the signing for Newcastle, although Benitez has managed Isco before, so Everton have a good chance in this transfer battle.
Super Deporte believe Newcastle and Juventus are the two clubs most interested in signing Isco, who is having a tough time at Real Madrid.
Isco has made just six La Liga appearances this season, with four of those coming as a substitute – he is far from a favourite under Carlo Ancelotti.
As a result, the 38-cap Spain international would be happy to leave, and Super Deporte believe he wouldn’t be against joining Newcastle.
It comes after Defensa Central revealed that Benitez wants a reunion with Isco at Everton.
The Spaniard handed the £23m man 20 appearances at Real Madrid, in which Isco scored three goals and provided six assists.
Newcastle or Everton could get very lucky

It’s not often that a player of Isco’s quality becomes available, so either Newcastle or Everton could get very lucky.
The 29-year-old’s contract expires in June 2022, so he should be available for a cut-price fee in January.
Either that, or Real Madrid will lose him for nothing in the summer.

Isco is a player of real pedigree, having won the Champions League on four occasions as well as two La Liga titles and four FIFA Club World Cup titles.
In total, the former Malaga maestro has made 342 appearances for Real Madrid, scoring 52 goals while providing 56 assists.
Isco is a true gem, and whoever manages to sign him will be getting their hands on a wonderful footballer.
