Just when all hope appeared lost, Mike Ashley is still trying to work out a way for Newcastle United’s takeover to go through, according to Sky Sports.
Newcastle suffered the frustration of seeing their potential Saudi owners back away from a deal, after failing to get approval from the Premier League.
The league has now faced a backlash from Newcastle supporters, who are angry at the lack of clarity they have been given over the situation.
And Ashley still feels that a deal could be possible, as he seeks to find a way to get the takeover to go through.
Newcastle supporters have often criticised Ashley, but it seems that he really does have a desire to sell the club this time around.
Indeed, Sky claimed that he is ‘100 per cent committed’ to finding a way to get the deal back on.

The latest update should provide reason for excitement around St. James’ Park, but Newcastle fans will be cautious not to get their hopes up too much.
After suffering set-back after set-back, Newcastle supporters have been left very frustrated, and the hope is that all the uncertainty off the field will not affect the club too much on the pitch in the upcoming season.
