According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United may not be able to afford Sassuolo defender Rogerio following the club’s collapsed takeover.
The Magpies saw their drawn-out takeover saga come to an end just days ago, with the Saudi-led consortium pursuing the club pulling out.
That means Newcastle won’t be in the market for high-profile managers and players this summer, and they must now make other plans.
It’s claimed that Newcastle have now asked about a deal for Rogerio, in the hope of luring the Brazilian left back to Tyneside.
However, it’s now suggested that Newcastle may not have the funds to sign Rogerio with the takeover cancelled.
Newcastle have allegedly made the 22-year-old one of their top left back targets, with Danny Rose currently heading back to Tottenham Hotspur.

Sassuolo’s demands may now be beyond Newcastle, and fans will be fearing that this will be a common theme with the cash windfall no longer coming.
Rogerio, formerly of Juventus, is quick and dangerous going forward, but it seems that Magpies fans may not be seeing him on Tyneside any time soon.
