Newcastle United have already stepped up their interest in Hirving Lozano, according to AreaNapoli.

Newcastle were only linked with Lozano earlier this week, but they quickly seem to have firmed up their interest.

The Magpies are now said to have made contact with Lozano’s agent, Mino Raiola, to let him know they want to take the rapid forward.

Lozano has struggled since a £36 million move to Napoli (Bleacher Report) in the summer.

However, he could still be an impressive addition for the Magpies, given his blistering pace.

Newcastle already have the likes of Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin who are a huge threat on the counter, and Lozano would make them an even bigger danger on the break.

Newcastle are likely to need their takeover to go through to stand any chance of landing Lozano, as despite his rather indifferent campaign with Napoli, the Mexican remains very highly rated across European football.
