Newcastle United’s Matt Ritchie is still in regular contact with a number of Bournemouth players amid reports he could make a return, the Chronicle say.
Ritchie could be used as part of a swap deal to bring Callum Wilson to Newcastle this summer.
And it seems that the move back to the south coast may appeal to the Newcastle midfielder.
Ritchie spent three years with Bournemouth before moving to St. James’ Park, and still has good friends at the club.
Although the Cherries squad has changed a lot since Ritchie left in 2016, some of the core of the squad still remains, and the Newcastle man is said to have spoken to them recently.

If Steve Bruce was to lose Ritchie it could be a blow to him, as the Scottish international played fairly regularly for him last season.
However, getting rid of Ritchie to bring in Wilson may be a sacrifice which needs to be made, as Newcastle need for a striker is obvious.
