Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin is growing frustrated with his contract at St. James’ Park, according to the Daily Mail.

Saint-Maximin only joined Newcastle this summer, and he penned a deal worth £36,000-a-week.

The French winger has already become Newcastle’s most influential player, and he is now a permanent starter for Steve Bruce’s side.

Saint-Maximin now apparently wants a wage-rise, to bring his wage more in line with his teammates.

Newcastle have players in the reserves on more money than Saint-Maximin currently.

The Magpies will obviously not want the situation to boil over, and it could be that they move to offer Saint-Maximin new terms sooner rather than later.

Indeed, it is claimed that Newcastle’s potential new owners are determined to keep the 23-year-old on Tyneside.

Newcastle are still waiting for their takeover to be approved by the Premier League, but if it does go through then keeping Saint-Maximin around will reportedly be considered a ‘priority’.

If Newcastle can retain Saint-Maximin for the long-term then it would be hugely exciting for the St. James’ Park crowd, as he looks to be the best talent to wear the shirt in a number of years.
