Reported Newcastle United and Tottenham target Ousmane Dembele has no chance of returning to Borussia Dortmund according to new updates from Germany.

According to Bild, the 24-year-old winger will not make a move back to Bundesliga giants this summer despite tentative rumours that Dembele could return to Dortmund, with the attacker’s contract at Barcelona set to expire this summer.

As per the report, Dembele left Dortmund on poor terms, an episode alone that would rule out a move back to the German club, with the forward’s sky-high wages also another factor that has ruled out a stunning transfer this summer.

Dembele is set to leave Barcelona at the end of this season, with the £136m attacker likely to be one of the most sought-after players in the summer given his quality and relatively young age, with Newcastle and Tottenham both interested according to reports.

Both Premier League clubs, as well as the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool, have been linked with Dembele for some time, with the winger one of the most talked-about players in the January transfer window. Yet as we know, the forward remained in Barcelona.

With Dembele now clearly not moving back to Dortmund, this new update is a huge boost for the likes of Newcastle and Tottenham, who face less competition for the French winger ahead of the summer market.

Newcastle and Tottenham are expected to go big on transfers this summer, and with Dortmund now out of the race for Dembele, this update is huge for both Premier League clubs looking to sign a world-class talent.

Whilst the wages will be high, there is no denying that Dembele could be an outstanding addition to either squad for next season, and Dortmund’s stance on their former superstar has just made Newcastle and Tottenham’s job a lot easier this summer.
