According to The Telegraph, Newcastle United are eyeing up a move for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher as Steve Bruce eyes reinforcements.
The report mostly focuses on Newcastle’s strengthening hopes of bringing Joe Willock back to the club in another loan spell from Arsenal.
Bruce is also looking at other targets too though, and Chelsea’s Gallagher is a player the Magpies have allegedly shown an interest in.
The 21-year-old spent last season loan at West Bromwich Albion, and is likely to be loaned out again with no immediate plans for him at Chelsea.
Gallagher registered two goals and two assists at West Brom but couldn’t stop them from suffering relegation.
Bruce was seemingly impressed enough to target Gallagher this summer, though it’s unclear whether he would be targeted alongside WIllock or instead of him.

Premier League rules state that clubs can only have two loan players at any one time, and committing both slots to midfielders may be something of a risk for Newcastle.
Gallagher has been compared to Frank Lampard in recent times, but really needs to kick on if he is to justify that tag – and Newcastle may hope his next move is to Tyneside.
