Newcastle United are showing keen interest in the SK Slavia Praha defender.
Rafael Benitez has said earlier this week that he will be looking to bolster every area of the pitch in the January transfer window.
While signing a goalkeeper, a left-back and an attacking midfielder is his top priority, the Spaniard hasn’t ruled out the option of adding players in other positions.
The 25-year-old plays for Czech Republic club Slavia Praha. He has previously played for the Czech U-21 side and on June earlier this year, he was called up to the senior Czech national team to face Belgium and Norway.
The report claims that Newcastle scouts have watched the defender’s last three matches and they are impressed with what they saw. They believe his power and presence make him perfect for the Premier League.
He has a contract at the Czech club till 2020, but Newcastle are hoping to snap him up at a measly fee of £2 million in the January transfer window.
