French outlet 20Minutes claim Newcastle are expected to complete the loan signing of FC Nantes wide man Anthony Limbombe, despite the clock ticking ahead of Thursday’s 11pm deadline.

Newcastle are expected to be busy on the final day of the transfer window, with Miguel Almiron currently on Tyneside undergoing a medical over a club-record move. Antonio Barreca is set to join on loan from AS Monaco.

The Mirror claimed Limbombe, 24, was the subject of talks between Newcastle and Ligue 1 side Nantes as the Toon look to thrash out a deal before the end of the January window.

Rafa Benitez wanted a left-back, number 10, a winger and a holding midfielder at the start of the window, and it looks as though Limbombe could be the man to solve his lack of a winger.

That is because 20Minutes have claimed Newcastle ‘should’ be able to complete a deal to land the speed machine winger on loan. The financial part of the deal is yet to be confirmed, but it looks promising for the Toon.

A move to sign Limbombe could allow Newcastle’s Jacob Murphy to leave the club on loan, with BBC Sport claiming West Bromwich Albion want to land the £12million signing on loan.
