Newcastle United are reportedly closing in on Ibrahima Sissoko.

According to The Sun, Newcastle United are setting up a £13million move to sign Strasbourg midfielder Ibrahima Sissoko in the January transfer window.
The Magpies brought in Emil Krafth, Jetro Willems, Allan Saint-Maximin, Joelinton and Andy Carroll over the summer, but continue to struggle under Steve Bruce.
Newcastle are woefully short of goals, but their first January signing may actually be a holding midfielder rather than anybody to make an impact in the final third.
It’s claimed that Newcastle are close to a £13million agreement with Strasbourg for Sissoko, and he’ll be given permission to negotiate terms ahead of a January move.
Sissoko will allegedly jump at the chance to join Newcastle, and a deal to make him the first Magpies signing of 2020 appears to be some way down the line.
The 22-year-old stands at a gigantic 6ft 4in tall, and possesses great strength and defensive attributes, meaning he can bring real physicality and protection in front of the Newcastle defence.

A French Under-21 international, Sissoko has starred for Strasbourg since signing from Brest in 2018, and he looks to be an ideal signing for Newcastle given his age, potential and the price involved.
Bruce does though have Jonjo Shelvey, Ki Sung-yueng, Isaac Hayden and the Longstaff brothers Sean and Matty, so Sissoko’s potential arrival may just push one of those midfielders out of Newcastle come January.
