Newcastle United could sell Siem De Jong in the next 48 hours.

According to Telesport, Newcastle United attacker Siem De Jong could re-join Ajax within the next 48 hours.
The 28-year-old playmaker had looked decent for Newcastle in pre season but has played no part in either of the Magpies’ two Premier League games so far.
The Netherlands international, who joined United in 2014, previously scored 57 times in 168 appearances for Ajax and, according to Telesport, the Eredivisie giants could wrap up a deal to bring him back to Amsterdam before this weekend.

De Jong will be remembered as something of a failure during his time at St James’s Park, scoring once in 22 league games throughout his three-year spell, though injuries – a couple of them on the freakish side – have undoubtedly contributed to his low-profile stint.
As mentioned, he had looked promising under Rafael Benitez in pre-season, and some fans of the North-East club don’t want the Newcastle boss to sell him.

Then again, it is widely believed that Benitez has to sell before he can buy, so if De Jong’s departure leads to a better player coming in then the Magpies supporters will find a way of resolving their grief.
