Newcastle United have made a last-gasp move to sign Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara – but he is hesitating on the deal.
That’s according to French newspaper Le Phoceen, who claim that Newcastle have sent an offer to the desk of Marseille’s president Pablo Longoria.
Longoria was actually a Newcastle scout himself back in the day, working with the Magpies during the 2007-08 season.
The Spaniard now holds all the power in terms of whether or not to accept Newcastle’s bid for Kamara, but the player himself isn’t 100% sold.
Kamara is described as being ‘extremely hesitant’ about a move to Newcastle, and may end up snubbing the move to St James’ Park.
Kamara, 21, can play as a centre back or holding midfielder, and would give Newcastle flexibility in terms of his role in Steve Bruce’s side.

The French Under-21 international has racked up more than 120 appearances for his hometown club, and seemingly only wants to leave for the right move.
French players have had a mixed history at Newcastle, and they don’t appear to be outwardly ambitious to potential recruits.
Newcastle would no doubt love to have Kamara and Joe Willock in midfield given their huge potential, but the Magpies are now facing a nervous wait.
