Newcastle United have reportedly scouted the Italian defender.

The Chronicle has reported that Newcastle United have watched Juventus defender Leonardo Spinazzola.

The North-East publication claims that the Magpies have watched the Italian left-back, but those scouting missions, if they have been this season, must have come in reserve games.

The 25-year-old, who can also play left wing-back or left wing, has only managed four minutes of first-team football with the Italian champions during the 2018-19 campaign, and that cameo came in their win over Chievo last weekend.

Newcastle are thought to be in the market for at least two new additions this month – a left-back and a number 10.

Paris Saint-Germain full-back Stanley N’Soki has also reportedly been on the radar but, according to The Chronicle, Spinazzola is the latest potential target to emerge.

Spinazzola, who has impressed on loan at Atalanta over the past two seasons, is worth around £12 million according to Transfermarkt, and contracted to Juve until 2022.

United boss Rafael Benitez needs somebody in that role, given that Paul Dummett has been plagued by hamstring injuries over the past 18 months and travelled to Barcelona earlier in January in a bid to solve the long-term issue.
