Newcastle United are reportedly interested in both Emil Krafth and Jarrod Bowen this summer.
According to a report from the Chronicle, Newcastle sent scouts to watch Hull City’s defeat to Amiens on Wednesday with both Jarrod Bowen and Emil Krafth on the Magpies’ radar as they look to step up their summer spending.
After a concerning start to the window, Newcastle now seem to be attempting to make up for lost time. They have already broken their club-record to sign Joelinton, and the Chronicle reports that they currently have four active enquiries in place.
The Newcastle scouts benefited from having two of their reported targets playing against each other in pre-season, with the Chronicle adding that the club sent representatives to watch Hull’s friendly with Amiens, which ended in a 2-0 win to the visitors.
Along with Tigers talisman Bowen, Newcastle reportedly had their eye on the Sweden international, who joined the Ligue 1 side permanently this year after initially signing for the club on loan.
Steve Bruce’s men have been linked with strengthening their right-back options this summer, with the Daily Mail reporting at the weekend that they were interested in signing James Tavernier from Rangers.
Krafth – who can also play further down the line in midfield – made 35 appearances in the French top flight last season, scoring once and providing one assist. Meanwhile, Bowen goes into this season off the back of an amazing campaign in which he scored 22 goals in the Championship.
