Could Newcastle United move for the out-of-sorts Tottenham Hotspur whiz? According to reports, possibly.

The Chronicle have reported that Newcastle United are “keeping tabs” on Marcus Edwards’s situation at Tottenham Hotspur.
The 19-year-old has been linked with a move away from Tottenham recently and The Guardian claimed earlier in the week that he is keen to quit the North London side this summer.
Edwards, once compared to a young Lionel Messi by Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, only managed six minutes of first-team football during a disappointing half-season loan at Norwich City last term.
Nevertheless, Edwards remains one of the Lilywhites’ most exciting young talents at the moment, and The Chronicle have suggested that Newcastle may offer him an escape route to the North East.

The report adds that Ajax and RB Leipzig may be interested in the starlet, who is yet to make a senior appearance for the Lilywhites.
Realistically, if Edwards struggled with Norwich in the Championship then it is difficult to imagine him being a roaring success at St James’s Park.
That being said, Magpies boss Rafael Benitez is renowned for his man-management methods, as is Pochettino, but perhaps the Spanish boss has a different idea as to how to maximise his undoubted ability.
