According to Calciomercato, Newcastle aren’t giving up hope of hiring Antonio Conte, and are prepared to give him Theo Hernandez if he joins.
What’s the story?
Well, the Italian news outlet believe Newcastle and their new owners are prepared to spend big in order to bring Conte to Tyneside.
Amanda Staveley and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia have parted ways with Steve Bruce, and want a big name to replace him.
Calciomercato believe Newcastle’s new owners dream of Conte, who lifted the Premier League title with Chelsea in 2017.
However, he could opt to wait and see what happens to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United.
Conte has been unemployed since leaving Inter Milan over the summer, after guiding them to the Serie A title last season.
Across his managerial career, the Italian has won 306 of his 518 games in management, lifting nine trophies along the way.
Newcastle want to give Theo Hernandez to Antonio Conte

Interestingly, Calciomercato add that Staveley and co. want to bring Theo Hernandez to St James’ Park with Conte.
The AC Milan left-back is enjoying himself this season with one goal and three assists in nine appearances.
The 3-cap France international has been among the best full-backs in Europe this term, although that has seen his value soar.

Calciomercato believe AC Milan would want €70m (£59m) from Newcastle if they are to gift Hernandez to Conte.
It’s a seriously ambitious double move, although if PIF can pull it off, it would be a dream start to their reign on Tyneside.
