Newcastle United are reportedly set to offer Juventus midfielder and Wales international Aaron Ramsey a three-year deal ional.
According to Italian TV company SportMediaSet, the Toon are ready to make a move for the 30-year-old midfielder. Ramsey is seemingly not in Juventus’ long-term plans. Yet the former Arsenal star continues to put in impressive performances for Wales.
As per the report, Newcastle are ‘ready to offer’ Ramsey a hefty deal to sign for the northeast side following a great display for the Dragons over the international break in the Czech Republic.
Former Wales captain Ashley Williams lauded Ramsey as ‘unbelievable’ in Wales’ 2-2 draw in Prague as per Football Focus. And interest in the Juventus star seems to be ramping up daily from Newcastle.
A midfielder appears to be what the Premier League side are eager to sign when January rolls around. The likes of Dele Alli and Jesse Lingard have also been linked with a move to St. James Park.
Yet Ramsey looks to be the name Newcastle are most keen on signing. After all, the Welshman was one of Arsenal’s best players in the Premier League during his time with the north London side.
Newcastle must press on with Ramsey interest
Whilst injuries have been an issue for Ramsey over the past few years, there’s no denying that when the 30-year-old midfielder is fit, there are few players who can match his midfield quality and work rate.
With other clubs keen on Ramsey, though, Newcastle faces the tough task of trying to convince the midfielder to join the Tyneside outlet. But with money no longer an issue, the Toon could match the Welsh international’s wages if he was to return to the Premier League.
