According to 90min, Newcastle have joined Liverpool in the race to sign West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen, who has shone for the Premier League side.
What’s the story?
Well, the £80,000-a-week man has been in superb form for the east Londoners this season.
Bowen has scored 14 goals in 41 appearances, while also providing 11 assists.
Impressively, no English player has registered more Premier League goal involvements than the 25-year-old’s nine goals and ten assists this term.
90min believe Eddie Howe is a huge fan of Bowen – who has 18 Premier League goals in total – having monitored him during his time in charge of Bournemouth.
Newcastle’s recruitment staff have also issued glowing scouting reports to the Magpies hierarchy, with the Tynesiders keen to rebuild their attack.
90min add that Bowen is happy at the London Stadium, although West Ham will need to offer him a pay rise to fend off Newcastle.
Newcastle must beat Liverpool to Jarrod Bowen

In our view, Bowen is going to be the next forward to make a significant step up to an elite level, like Sadio Mané and Diogo Jota did after leaving Southampton and Wolves respectively.
In a few years, we wouldn’t be surprised if the ex-Hull man was among the best players in Europe, so Newcastle must beat Liverpool to his services now.
If they don’t, then Bowen is likely to rise to stardom under Jürgen Klopp, who excels at getting the best from his attacking players.
At the age of 25, the former Hereford attacker is at an ideal stage of his career for a big move, as he’s just entering his prime years.

Newcastle, backed by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, can afford to sign pretty much any player in Europe, so money won’t be an issue.
What will be tough, however, is convincing Bowen to give up European football at West Ham – and Champions League football at Liverpool – to come to Tyneside.
