Newcastle United are reportedly keen on Manchester United’s Luke Shaw.

According to The Mirror, Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez is hoping to lure Manchester United’s Luke Shaw to St. James’ Park in January – but only on loan.
The Magpies suffered a fourth straight defeat on Saturday, falling to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Watford, following on from defeats to Burnley, Bournemouth and Manchester United.
Manager Rafael Benitez has to find a way to turn Newcastle’s form around, but he will also be eyeing up potential January transfer targets – regardless of whether the club are taken over or not.

The Mirror now report that Benitez wants to rejuvenate Manchester United defender Luke Shaw, and will hope to pull off a January swoop for the left back.
However, it’s claimed that Benitez knows he can’t afford to purchase Shaw, and will instead pursue a loan deal for the 22-year-old should United be willing to let him go.
Shaw impressed under Mauricio Pochettino at Southampton during the 2013-14 season, earning a summer move to Manchester United, where he was expected to become the Red Devils’ left back for the next 10 years.

However, form and fitness have eluded Shaw at Old Trafford, and with Jose Mourinho yet to be convinced by him, a 2018 move appears to be on the cards, whether on loan or permanently.
It’s claimed that Tottenham and manager Pochettino may seek a deal for Shaw, but with Newcastle searching for a natural left back to compete with or even upgrade upon Paul Dummett, Shaw could fit the bill for the Magpies.
