Report: Newcastle plot 2018 deal for Yannick Toure after six goals in seven games, compensation needed

Newcastle United are reportedly keen on Yannick Toure.

According the Daily Mail, Newcastle United are interested in snapping up Young Boys’ teenage forward Yannick Toure.

The Magpies have mostly focused on bringing in first-team players under Rafael Benitez, but did also place some emphasis on their Under-23 side with the signings of Stuart Findlay and Yasin Ben El-Mhanni.

Now, with the January transfer window approaching, it seems that manager Benitez is eyeing up more additions for the future – regardless of whether the club are taken over or not.

The Daily Mail report that Newcastle are now tracking Young Boys forward Yannick Toure, who has impressed so far this season.

Toure, 17, has featured seven times for Young Boys II in the fourth tier of Swiss football this season, and with six goals, he is catching the eye.

The Senegal-born forward is allegedly set for a promotion to the Swiss Under-19 side at international level, and a 2018 transfer could be on the cards.

Toure has allegedly failed to seal a new contract with Young Boys, and that means that he can signed for a FIFA-mandated compensation fee, with Newcastle plotting a move.

Capable of playing up front or out wide, Newcastle may feel that Toure is a talent for the future, and a versatile attacking weapon for Benitez to use in the future – if Newcastle can land him.
