Some Newcastle United players are reportedly frustrated with the club’s lack of summer business this window.

According to the Daily Mail, a handful of players are annoyed over how little activity has been done this summer. Newcastle face off against West Ham United next week in their Premier League opener.

Moreover, as per the report, players are aware that the team needs to strengthen to avoid a relegation battle.

Newcastle are the only Premier League side to yet make a first-team signing this summer.

Steve Bruce is keen to sign Joe Willock permanently from Arsenal, but a deal for the 21-year-old midfielder has dragged on for the majority of the window.

Moreover, Newcastle need more than just Willock back on a full-time basis if the squad excite fans ahead of next season as well as give them confidence ahead of next season.

The northeast side have lost the likes of Andy Carroll, Christian Atsu and Henri Saivet this summer. And squad depth will be needed at Newcastle if they are to have a shot in finishing midtable once again under Bruce.

Indeed, with the club determined to sign Willock, with some reports suggesting that Newcastle will spend their entire transfer budget on the England youth international, it is easy to see why there is frustration from some players over a lack of activity this window.
