Allan Saint-Maximin believes he deserves a better contract after an electrifying start to his Newcastle United career and, according to the Mail, the Premier League club will reward the winger with a new deal.
If the ever-affable Andrew Garfield was perhaps the one redeeming feature in the ill-fated Spiderman re-boot, the same can often be said for Saint-Maximin at St James’ Park.
Be honest, how many times did you tune into a Newcastle game last season in the hope of seeing this fancy, fleet-footed Frenchman trick and flick his way past bamboozled full-backs before launching a long-range rocket into the net?
Quite simply, Saint-Maximin is the man who makes the Magpies worth watching.
Spiderman sans Garfield would have amounted to forgettable, popcorn-flavoured nothingness; his quirky charms at least gave this standard Hollywood fare a bit of much-needed personality.
You can say the same about Newcastle without ‘ASM’. The phrase ‘mid-table mediocrity’ comes to mind.

No wonder the Tyneside giants are ready to sit down and agree to his demands as rival Premier League clubs start to take notice of his mercurial talents.
The Mail reports that the £16 million signing from Nice will sign a staggering six-year contract at St James’ Park. He wants better terms of course – and he’ll get them, too.
Saint-Maximin currently earns £65,000-a-week but the report suggests that a new deal will see him become one of, if not the, club’s top earner (Football League FC).
