The Newcastle United midfielder Dan Barlaser is likely to leave after Rotherham United made a bid for him, according to The Sunday Mirror (September 27, page 69).
Barlaser spent last season on loan to Rotherham, whom he helped secure promotion back to the Championship at the first time of asking.
And the Millers are said to have approached Newcastle about a fresh move for the 23-year-old, understood to be a permanent one.
Since his return to Newcastle, Barlaser’s only first-team appearances since have arrived in the EFL Cup and the Gateshead-born player may welcome the chance to feature more often.
The Sunday Mirror notes that Jonjo Shelvey, Isaac Hayden, Jeff Hendrick and both Sean and Matty Longstaff are all currently ahead of him in Steve Bruce’s plans.

It is unclear how much Newcastle could expect to receive for Barlaser, who scored or assisted seven goals in 27 League One games last season but is out of contract next summer.
The Magpies were offered £300,000 for him, by Rotherham, earlier this summer, according to The Times.
