Newcastle United are interested in signing Kristoffer Ajer from Celtic in the summer of 2021, according to The Daily Mail.
It has been reported that Premier League club Newcastle are planning to make a bid of £8 million for the Norway international defender.
The 22-year-old, who can also operate as a defensive midfielder, wants to make a move to the Premier League, and Scottish Premiership giants Celtic value him at £35 million, according to the report.
Newcastle United need to increase their offer
Ajer is a very good defender who can only get better in the coming years as he is only 22.
The youngster would be a good signing for the Magpies and would make Steve Bruce’s side better and stronger.

However, it is hard to see the Hoops sell the 22-year-old for £8 million when they reportedly value him at £35 million.
Of course, it remains to be seen if Newcastle – or any other club, for that matter – are willing to pay £35 million for the youngster.
According to WhoScored, Ajer has scored one goal and provided one assist in 31 Scottish Premiership matches and has provided one assist in five Europa League games for Celtic this season.
