Wolves could be about to snap up Newcastle’s Jack Colback.

According to the Daily Mail’s live transfer blog (12:27), Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback is in talks with Wolverhampton Wanderers about a possible loan move to Molineux.
The Magpies are looking to offload some fringe players ahead of the transfer deadline as they look to fund moves for new signings, and midfielder Colback is one player who has no future under Rafael Benitez.
Colback, 27, was born in Newcastle but spent 15 years on the books with rivals Sunderland, only to finally make his move to his boyhood club in 2014, joining the Magpies on a free transfer.

Whilst the midfielder has made almost 100 appearances for Newcastle, he now finds himself down the pecking order under Benitez, and is currently behind the likes of Jonjo Shelvey, Isaac Hayden and summer signing Mikel Merino.
Colback has become something of an outcast at Newcastle as they wait for him to leave, and the Daily Mail’s live transfer blog (12:27) claims that he is in talks over a loan move to Wolverhampton Wanders.
Wolves splashed the cash to bring in midfielder Ruben Neves from Porto this summer, but manager Nuno is seemingly looking to bring in Colback too, possibly striking up a midfield partnership between the pair.

It’s claimed that Colback has interest from Hull City too, but the exciting project at Wolves – which has seen them bring in the likes of Willy Boly, Roderick Miranda, Diogo Jota, Leo Bonatini and Neves – is appealing to the Newcastle midfielder.
Newcastle would maybe prefer to sell Colback, but a loan deal now looks close, with Colback thoroughly expected to leave St. James’ Park before the transfer deadline, as Molineux looks to be his most likely destinaton.
