According to The Northern Echo, Newcastle United will not increase their offer to Matty Longstaff.
It has been reported that Udinese are favourites to sign Longstaff on a free transfer this summer.
Although manager Steve Bruce has said that he wants the midfielder to stay at the club beyond the summer, as quoted in The Northern Echo, it has been claimed that Magpies’ officials have decided not to increase their offer of £20,000 per week.
Representatives of the 20-year-old midfielder have turned it down, according to the report.
Newcastle United exit inevitable?
With Longstaff’s current contract at Newcastle running out at the end of the month, it is hard to see the youngster stay at the Magpies next season.
If the two parties have not been able to reach on an agreement by now, they are unlikely to do so in the next few days.
With Udinese reportedly willing to pay Longstaff £30,000 per week as salary and Newcastle deciding not to increase their offer of £20,0000 per week, it does seem inevitable that the England Under-20 international will leave St. James’ Park for good at the end of the month.
