According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United have been offered free agent midfielder Jeff Hendrick following his Burnley exit.
It’s claimed that Hendrick is weighing up his options, with Aston Villa and AC Milan among the clubs to show an interest.
Hendrick’s agent has now seemingly contacted Newcastle to thrash out a deal, with the Magpies seemingly keen themselves.
TEAMtalk reported in March that Newcastle were interested in landing Hendrick on a free transfer, with his Burnley future up in the air at that point.
Hendrick has since left the Clarets having failed to agree a new contract, and Newcastle are now a potential destination for him.
The 28-year-old has made more than 100 Premier League appearances, bagging nine goals and five assists whilst being a hard-working part of Sean Dyche’s side.

Hendrick can play centrally or out wide, and whilst he may not be the most exciting player around, he could bring valuable depth to the Newcastle squad whilst doing plenty of dirty work that goes unnoticed.
Newcastle won’t be in the market for big-money signings having seen their proposed takeover fall through, and free agent signings like Hendrick could now be on the radar.
