According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United have joined the race to sign Queens Park Rangers playmaker Eberechi Eze.

It’s claimed that Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United want to sign Eze. The Premier League duo want to keep Eze in London, but now face a battle.

Steve Nickson is looking at a number of possible targets. He’s in something of a tricky situation, as he is having to search for players despite not knowing how much Newcastle can spend.

The club’s potential takeover means Newcastle could look for bigger name targets, but they would be wise to look at Eze regardless.

The youngster is thought to be one of a host of promising targets Newcastle have identified. With a takeover, Newcastle would be able to throw money at QPR in an effort to land one of English football’s top talents.

Even if the takeover falls through, Newcastle may have a chance. Eze has just one year left on his deal at QPR, and they may be under some pressure to sell.

Eze, 21, has racked up 12 goals and eight assists this season. He possesses flamboyant, nonchalant skill, the ability to go past a man at ease and an end product beyond many Championship players his senior.

Primarily a number 10 who can play in from the left if needed, Eze looks to have a huge future. He may not be a world-renowned name, but he would certainly be an exciting start to the new era if a deal materialises.
