Everton are heading in the wrong direction, and things could be going from bad to worse for the Merseyside club.

Indeed, according to The Telegraph, Anthony Gordon is reportedly once again back on Newcastle United’s radar, and a move could materialise in the coming months.

Gordon is also wanted by Antonio Conte at Tottenham according to journalist Paul Brown, and it looks like the ‘explosive’ player could be on his way out of Everton before too long.

Everton, of course, rejected bids in the region of £60m for Gordon in the summer, but after a poor start to the season and a potential impending relegation, one has to imagine that the Englishman’s value has plummeted.

However, despite his underwhelming showings this year, the youngster is still admired by some of the best clubs in England, and it looks like a race between Newcastle and Spurs could be on.

Whether or not these clubs pursue Gordon in January or in the summer remains to be seen, but with Everton seemingly in real danger of being relegated at the end of the season, it may be smarter business to wait and see whether or not the Toffees go down and pick Gordon up for a reduced fee.

One thing is for sure, if Everton don’t improve quickly, they will seriously struggle to keep hold of Gordon, especially as two clubs who are seemingly destined to be playing in Europe next season are on his trail.

Gordon himself will certainly have to up his game if he is to become a regular at either Spurs or Newcastle, but given that Conte thinks he has the capabilities to be ‘special’ and that Eddie Howe has worked wonders with attacking talents since arriving at Newcastle, he could improve ten-fold at either of these clubs.
