Newcastle United have made a move to sign Arnaud Lusamba, according to the Chronicle.
Newcastle head of recruitment Steve Nickson is believed to have contacted the player’s agents to let them know of the Magpies’ interest in the midfielder.
Lusamba is currently at Nice in France, but he is set to leave next month, and Newcastle reportedly want to be at the head of the queue.
The 23-year-old may not be as high profile a target as many of the names who Newcastle have been linked with lately, but he could still prove a smart addition.

Lusamba has played regularly for Nice in Ligue 1 this term, and he couldd present a bargain deal, considering he is set to become a free agent.
It seems that Lusamba does have offers from other clubs in France and Werder Bremen, but a move Newcastle could appeal.
There is great excitement around St. James’ Park currently, and Lusamba could be attracted to be part of the new project.
