Newcastle United’s Aleksandar Mitrovic reportedly wants a move to Fulham this summer.

According to The Mirror, Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is specifically pursuing a move to Fulham – but they have yet to meet the Magpies’ asking price.
Mitrovic, 23, found himself frozen out at Newcastle last season as he failed to convince manager Rafael Benitez, and ended up dropping down to the Championship with Fulham in order to play first-team football.
The Serbian, who joined forces with compatriot Slavisa Jokanovic, smashed 12 goals in 20 games for Fulham, helping them clinch promotion back to the Premier League through the play-offs.

Mitrovic is technically back with Newcastle, though he is currently over in Russia at the World Cup, and he scored for Serbia in their 2-1 defeat to Switzerland on Friday night.
Now, The Mirror report that Mitrovic is hoping to leave Newcastle this summer, and is specifically asking to join Fulham permanently – though Jokanovic’s men have yet to offer a suitable fee.
It’s believed that Newcastle are demanding around £20million for Mitrovic, but that fee may yet rise if he continues to flourish at the World Cup, and Fulham would be wise to get a deal done sooner rather than later.

A 2015 signing from Anderlecht, Mitrovic has blown hot and cold for Newcastle, but it is somewhat surprising that Benitez hasn’t at least attempted to get the best out of the burly striker over the last year.
Newcastle were hardly flush with goals last season, and Mitrovic’s form for Fulham and Serbia show just how talented he can be – but Benitez may just feel that recouping £20million and reinvesting that money in a striker he believes in may be the best move, and Mitrovic himself seems to be hoping for a permanent move to Craven Cottage.
