Newcastle United continue to be linked with Hoffenheim’s Joelinton.

According to The Chronicle, there’s a belief that Newcastle United will be willing to splash up to £40million on Hoffenheim striker Joelinton.
The Magpies are still attempting to convince boss Rafael Benitez to stay at the club, and that’s just one of the stories surrounding Newcastle right now.
Takeover rumours continue, with Sheikh Khaled being linked with a move to purchase the club from Mike Ashley, though that’s already becoming a strange saga.
With new investment – which should come from Benitez signing a deal, even before a takeover – Newcastle could splash the cash, and Joelinton has been linked throughout 2019.
The Chronicle report that Newcastle still like the Brazilian, and there’s a belief that the Magpies would be willing to pay £30million, or even up to £40million for him.
That would shatter the Newcastle transfer record, which was broken in January for Miguel Almiron, though Magpies fans will be sceptical about such a move.

The 22-year-old hit 11 goals and nine assists in 35 games this season, impressing as a target man with fine link-up play, but also great athleticism too.
Joelinton is of a similar mould to Salomon Rondon, so he may well be an alternative to the Venezuelan, but signing both seems unlikely given the price on Joelinton’s head.
