Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are keen on signing Raphinha, a player Leeds United sold last summer.
Sport have reported that Newcastle want to sign Raphinha from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
The Premier League club have already got in touch with Barcelona over a potential deal for the Brazil international winger.
The former Leeds winger is reportedly open to the idea of leaving Camp Nou and is tempted by a potential move to the Premier League.
Chelsea are also reported interested in the 26-year-old, described as a “jewel” by former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood on MatchDay Extra on Premier League Productions (09/04/22 at 8:50 pm).
Potentially exciting transfer
We believe that Raphinha would be a very good signing for Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.
The winger was a big success at Leeds, which is a big reason why Barcelona spent as much as £49 million to sign him last summer (Sky Sports).

Now, of course, Barcelona will want to make a decent profit on the 26-year-old, but Newcastle have rich owners in Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and would be able to afford it.
During his spell at Leeds, Raphinha scored 17 goals and created 22 big chances in 65 appearances in the Premier League.
The Barcelona no. 22 has made 21 starts and 10 substitute appearances in La Liga this season.
Raphinha has scored seven goals and given six assists in those games.
