Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez wants to bring Sandro Ramirez in on loan from Everton.
Rafa Benitez is still searching for his first signing of the January transfer window amid all of the speculation surrounding a potential takeover at St James’ Park, but time is running out for Newcastle, and getting new faces through the door appears to be imperative given that a relegation battle could be on the cards.
And it appears that Toffees forward Sandro is one player that Benitez is keen to bring in, with the Mail’s live transfer feed reporting that Newcastle have made a loan bid for the 22-year-old.
The Mail adds that Newcastle are willing to pay £2 million as a loan fee and will cover all of his £100,000 a week wages, but Sam Allardyce believes that he could still be a success in the Premier League, so it remains to be seen what he will make of Newcastle’s offer.
It certainly appears to make sense for Everton to consider the bid from the Magpies. With the Toffees signing Theo Walcott and Cenk Tosun during this window, it seems likely that Sandro’s chances of game-time have become more remote in recent days.
And with Newcastle and Everton looking set to not compete with each other in the table during the rest of the campaign, a move may prove beneficial for all parties with Newcastle bolstering their striker options, and Sandro getting the chance to potentially get some confidence back after a difficult time at Goodison Park.
And Everton may reap the benefits next season if he does leave, enjoys a good spell and starts to prove why the Toffees made a move for him during the summer.
