Newcastle are reportedly in the race for Borussia Dortmund’s Mario Gotze.

According to The Mirror, Newcastle United are one of five Premier League clubs to register an interest in signing Borussia Dortmund playmaker Mario Gotze this summer.
The Magpies have tied up one summer deal by securing loan goalkeeper Martin Dubravka on a permanent deal from Sparta Prague, but manager Rafael Benitez is still in need of further reinforcements.
A number 10 has been on Benitez’s wish list for some time now, and the Magpies appear to be pursuing a stunning deal to really excite fans this summer.

The Mirror report that Newcastle have made first contact over a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Mario Gotze, in the hope of bringing the German to St. James’ Park.
However, four Premier League rivals – Arsenal, Everton, Leicester City and West Ham United – are also thought to be keen on Gotze, with a deal far from straightforward.
Gotze – allegedly available for £18million – appeared set for stardom after a strong first season with Bayern Munich, culminating in scoring the winning goal in the 2014 World Cup final for Germany.

Unfortunately for the playmaker, the last four years have been difficult, as he lost his way at Bayern before heading back to Dortmund last summer, only to notch just two goals and six assists.
Now 26, Gotze could be on the move again, with a Premier League switch potentially on the cards, and Newcastle fans no doubt excited about the possibility of the German heading to Tyneside.
