Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are interested in signing William Saliba from Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the summer transfer window, according to L’Equipe.
L’Equipe have reported that Newcastle are competing with Leicester City, Atletico Madrid and Napoli for Arsenal central defender Saliba.
Newcastle, Atletico, Leicester and Napoli all have reportedly sought information about the French centre-back from Arsenal, according to the report.
Marseille reportedly want to keep the youngster for another season.
The 21-year-old, who cost Arsenal £27 million (Sky Sports) when they signed him from Saint-Etienne, spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Marseille from Arsenal.
Saliba helped the French club finish in the Champions League places in the Ligue 1 table this season.
