Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are now trying to sign Reiss Nelson, who is out of contract at Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

Football Transfers are reporting this afternoon Newcastle United want to sign Reiss Nelson, who is a free agent at the moment after his contract at Arsenal ran out on June 30.

Newcastle have inquired about the winger and have got in contact with his representatives.

Arsenal, though, want to keep the winger and have offered the 23-year-old a new contract, according to the report.

Newcastle United or Arsenal for Reiss Nelson?

In our opinion, Newcastle United could have a better chance of signing Reiss Nelson than Arsenal.

That the winger is now a free agent suggests that he is not fully convinced by the offer from Arsenal.

After all, if the English youngster was really happy with the offer from Arsenal, then he would have put pen to paper already.

Nelson will be fully aware of the competition that he will face for a place in the starting lineup at Arsenal, who have just signed forward Kai Havertz.

Newcastle are a big club who are going places under owners PIF and manager Eddie Howe.

The Magpies will play in the UEFA Champions League next season and will also be determined to finish in the top four of the Premier League table.

We believe that Nelson, described as “really powerful and fast” by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta in Football.London in December 2022, could be tempted by a move to Newcastle.
