Olivier Ntcham might finally have his chance to leave Celtic following a report regarding Newcastle United.
The French midfielder joined Celtic for £4.5 million in 2017 but has often angled for a move away from Glasgow, most recently in October.
According to Sky Sports, Newcastle have made contact with the Hoops about bringing the former Manchester City youth player to St James’s Park on loan for the rest of the season.
The report adds that the Scottish Premiership champions would ideally like an option-to-buy clause inserted into any potential loan deal between the clubs.
Good move?
At this point, it makes sense for all parties if Ntcham were to leave Celtic.
Neil Lennon has only given him 590 minutes of Premiership football this season and nothing in 2021 as of yet.
Newcastle are said to be interested in a midfielder and although Ntcham is untested in the Premier League, one of the division’s major managers – Brendan Rodgers, whose Leicester City are going for the title this season – is a fan.
It was the Irishman who brought Ntcham to Scotland, with Rodgers later labeling him a ‘highly-gifted‘ player and it’ll be fascinating to see how he fares in England, if a move goes through.
