Newcastle United are reportedly leading the way for free agent winger Jesus Navas.
According to The Mirror, Newcastle United are leading the race to sign former Manchester City winger Jesus Navas on a free transfer.
The Magpies have brought in defender Florian Lejeune from Eibar this summer, and whilst winger Christian Atsu penned a permanent deal with the club following a successful loan spell, Rafael Benitez could move for another wide man.

With Yoan Gouffran out of contract, an additional winger could be needed to boost the Newcastle attack, with Benitez potentially look to a fellow Spaniard for a boost on the flanks.
The Mirror report that Benitez is keen to bring Jesus Navas to St. James’ Park, given that the former Manchester City is a free agent after his contract at the Etihad Stadium expired earlier this summer.
Navas, 31, made his name with Sevilla having hit 35 goals and 76 assists in 393 appearances for his hometown club, before heading to Manchester City in the summer of 2013.
The Spanish international winger went on to make over 180 appearances for City in his four years with the club, whilst notching eight goals and 38 assists for the club.

City chose not to offer Navas a new contract at the end of last season, and whilst many expected him to return to Sevilla, that deal has stalled – and Newcastle are believed to have approached the winger’s agent about a possible move.
A right-sided winger with pace but an inconsistent end product, Navas would bring real Premier League experience to this Newcastle side, and he could be a smart addition for Benitez on a free transfer.
